Apart from the Final of the B Division Supplementary Cup, which East Fife won 9-1 over two legs in season 1947/48 (result NOT included in the above statistics!), there has not been a match of any great significance between East Fife and Stirling Albion over the years. In season 1995/96 the Fifers competed with Stirling Albion for the Second Division Championship, but as the Albion emerged runaway title winners, the four encounters between the sides that season (Albion two wins to East Fife's one win with one match drawn) had little effect on the destination of the championship flag. There was, however, a remarkable encounter between the two sides at Bayview on 10 April 1948. League Division 'B' leaders East Fife welcomed league newcomers Albion (who had only just been formed after the Second World War) to Bayview confident of a victory which would maintain their lead at the top of the table. The Albion, however, had other ideas and raced to an unbelievable 4-1 lead before the half time whistle blew. In what was probably East Fife's greatest ever turnaround, the Bayview boys rattled in five second half goals to win the match 6-4!
